What is Fixed Guide Bush
The Fixed Guide Bush, also known as the steady rest or follow rest, is an auxiliary support device installed on the bed guide rail. It plays a role in preventing vibration, bending and jumping in the processing of slender workpieces. It is especially indispensable when processing long shafts or slender parts.
The purpose of Fixed Guide Bush processing
Support the workpiece: prevent the workpiece from bending or vibrating due to its own length or thin diameter during processing.
Improve machining accuracy: ensure dimensional consistency, reduce surface roughness, and improve machining surface quality.
Extend tool life: Prevent tool chipping or wear caused by workpiece vibration.
Ensure processing safety: avoid workpiece "throwing off" or breaking, and protect equipment and personnel.

For Fixed Guide Bush machining, cutting oil must be used for cooling to prevent the workpiece from rotating at a high speed and contacting the Fixed Guide Bush to prevent the nozzle surface from burning.
Lubricating oil or coolant must be used at the contact points
